But what is there to look forward to about Windows 11? Microsoft have described Windows 11 as a new windows experience, ready to empower your productivity and inspire your creativity. To reflect this, Microsoft have refreshed the design, integrated new elements, and optimised the software for speed and efficiency. The key takeaways are:
- New design and layout
Built to provide a calm and creative space, the new design and layout helps you think, express and create in a natural way. The start menu has been relocated to the centre of the screen and is now “cloud powered” so it dynamically changes depending on the time, content and programs you’re working with.
- Maximised Productivity
Microsoft has introduced snap layouts, groups and desktops to optimise your screen and multitasking abilities. The new snap layers, you can arrange multiple windows across the screen in columns, sections and more, rather then just side by side. Snap Groups let you return to previously snapped windows from the doc, without having to snap them back to the previous view.
Teams is now integrated into the taskbar, so you can connect instantly. Windows 11* has also been optimised for speed, efficiency and an improved experience when using touch, digital pen and voice input.
- Curated Content
The new design incorporates AI powered widgets that provide a personalised feed and lets you access information relevant to you quickly.
- Microsoft Store
Featuring a new design and rebuilt to make it easier to find your favourite apps, games, shows and movies in one space. Microsoft has also teamed up with Amazon and Intel to offer android apps on the Microsoft Store.
