Harvey Norman is breaking new ground in New Zealand by opening its first Design and Build Studio in the heart of Central Auckland’s Grey Lynn. The focus of the Design and Build studio, in collaboration with award winning kitchen designer Mal Corboy, is to provide customers an ‘in-situ’ opportunity to experience immaculately designed high-end kitchens, laundries and bathroom vanities.
The new showroom is designed to showcase the latest trends in kitchen, laundry, bathroom and vanity designs, utilising world-leading branded appliances. Visitors will be impressed by the beautifully presented and finished kitchens, bathrooms and laundry, which includes the LG Styler and Samsung AirDresser steam clothing care systems that re-oderise, remove wrinkles, sanitise and gently dry your clothes all in one machine.
Our in-studio professional designers keep up-to-date with current trends and design ideas – you can expect inspired, elegant and functional solutions to your design requirements combined with cutting edge tech features.
These tech features include pressure driven, handle-less, fridge doors that provide a more sleek, streamlined and stripped back aesthetic in your kitchen. Brands such as Miele, AEG, Electrolux and Gaggenau are all about smart functionality, they build stove tops which have touch screen panels and proximity sensors (oven activation) and all of the showroom brands are embracing the latest in automatic cooking programming (allowing you to receive notifications during different stages of the cooking process). Assisted cooking functionality is now the norm (digital recipes incorporated, built in oven cameras, digital thermometers) including professional cooking techniques such as Sous Vide capability and steaming functionality across many of the ovens.
The Harvey Norman Design and Build team’s mission is to make your design and build process as straight forward as possible and they will cater for all new kitchen, laundry and bathroom builds. The team will work with other professionals to ensure the best possible roofing solutions, solar panels, tiles, flooring, furnishings and plenty more.
The process: bring your wishlist into the showroom, the designers will take your rough measurements, go through samples and discuss all things kitchen from the cabinetry down to the cutlery inserts. You’ll relax in the state-of-the art Design Pod and our experts will actually design your kitchen right in front of you – displayed on the big interactive screen.
The design team can create a comprehensive picture of your new kitchen, laundry or bathroom including the latest branded appliances from Gaggenau, Miele, AEG, BOSH, Fisher & Paykel, Electrolux, Ilve, Belling, Westinghouse, Sirius and InSinkerator. Once you’ve given your approval, we then facilitate the manufacturing process through our specialist partners and provide a full installation service.
